Position

As an HR Generalist, you will be the go-to person for all HR-related matters at the distribution center in Ghent, supporting a diverse workforce of both white- and blue-collar employees. You will ensure that every stage of the employee life cycle - from onboarding to offboarding - runs smoothly, while collaborating closely with managers and colleagues in Belgium and across the globe.

• Your key responsibilities will include:
  • HR Administration & Payroll: Managing accurate employee records, payroll processing, and compliance with Belgian labor laws.
  • Talent Acquisition & Management: Recruiting, onboarding, and supporting talent while contributing to employee development programs and performance management.
  • Relationship Management: Acting as a liaison with unions and works councils and playing a key role in social relations.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Supporting the implementation and optimization of benefit programs such as meal vouchers, company cars, and insurance.
  • Employee Relations: Promoting a positive work environment and mediating employee queries or disputes.
• You play an important role for the employee population: on the one hand, you are their sounding board for various HR-related topics and on the other hand, you formulate initial responses on their questions.
• You ensure the compliance with labor law and local HR practices.
• You will report to the HR Director Central Europe.

Profile

• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR generalist with accumulated knowledge within various HR domains (such as: comp&ben, recruitment and selection, talent management, retention, well-being, social relations,...) in a manufacturing environment.
• You have a broad knowledge of HR processes and a good understanding of the Belgian social legislation.
• You can rely on solid analytical skills and demonstrate the ability to act up as a problem solver with a hands-on mentality and a practical mindset.
• Operational work does not scare you, you dare to take responsibility and initiative. At the same time, you are conceptually and process-wise strong to shape and implement projects.
• You employ strong interpersonal and communication skills. You show initiative, enthusiasm and due to your energy and expertise you get things done.
• You have a mature personality, know how to take on a sounding board role and act as a coach.
