Operations Manager FR/ENG

Position

The Operations Manager reports to the EMEA Operations Manager and handles a team of 40 people. She/He is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the site. He/She establishes and maintains procedures for meeting company and customer commitments. He/She promotes and implements continual improvement. Trains, motivates and leads within area of responsibility. He/She also facilitates conflict resolution, and enforces company policies/procedures.

What you do on a typical day :

• Report to the EMEA Operations Director to define requirements for operations and ensure that the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed these requirements as well as customer expectations.
• Focus on LEAN techniques, quality management processes, and cost control methodologies within the operations to achieve company goals & profit levels; continued business growth; and long-term relationships with customers.
• Assign duties and monitor work completion for accuracy.
• Manage performance continually; develop associates by providing training and coaching.
• Maintain a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required.
• Ensure daily distribution and light manufacturing activities are executed and accountable for performance shortfalls – develop corrective action plans when performance falls below target.
• Supervise and develop staff and otherwise carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Are responsible for exceeding customer metrics (cost, quality, and responsiveness)
• Implement and coach Lean Warehousing System and processes.
• Lead start-up activities with cross functional teams.
• Daily interact with internal and external customers is required.
• Are accountable for personnel scheduling to support all shifts and accounts, plan and organize staff workload.
• Maintain documentation of processes that are followed by the department.
• Train associates so an up to date understanding of processes, policies and procedures are maintained.
• Consciously deal with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water and fuel consumption.

Profile

• You hold a Bachelor's degree - or equivalent through experience- with accompanying high level analytical skills.
• Broad experience in the field of Supply Chain.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a complex and multidimensional organization.
• Proven experience in team management (in the logistics field would be an asset).
• Fluent French and English (verbal and written) communication. Dutch would be advantageous.
• You are : assertive, excellent communicator, and know how to be diplomatic.
• You're a leader and you're not afraid to get things done.
• You know how to deal with the unexpected. Far from scaring you, it stimulates you.
